Modern Eclectic
This request was for living room storage that would hold a range of adult and children's belongings. The living room was home to the office as well as the usual elements of television and hangout space. We also wanted to incorporate something for the clients’ paintings, as she is an artist as well! We went with two finishes for the unit with the inside painted a rich dark blue, which made the TV recede and allowed the artwork and items on the shelves to pop. We then stained the oak a mid-tone grey for a neutral ground to support the other color and pattern in the room.
The desk area was also done in the same grey stained oak, with a clean floating design to maximize seating space and create an open feel.
More of the clients' artwork is displayed salon style with a dark blue background to accentuate the colors in the work. A new light fixture completes the look.
